Ed,
Never have been on the air sinceremoving those unsightly wires
running from this room and up the pull-down attic stairway.
I have a LAN cable running from my bedroom to what was my late
parents bedroom, to where the cable modem and router are. I use
the RealVNC program to access it over the LAN...but I have to go
back to unplug things with thunderstorms.
Never heard of Grumpy Number(s), thanks for enlightening me.
They meet Monday through Friday on the K9ONA-R Echolink node,
at 8:45am Central Time. If you check in 3 straight times, or 5
times within 30 days, you get your official Grumpy Number and a
nice certificate.
I was nearly Grumpy this morning when the VGA monitor in here
went tango uniform, turning on and off during the night, ruining
my sleep. Thankfully, I had 2 spare monitors, as one of them did
not work. The replacement monitor was on my late Mom's Windows 10
system, which recently failed. I tried to put Linux Mint Cinammon
on it, but the CPU and motherboard apparently were too old for it.
I was away from BBS usage fer about 2 years when DSL failed.
Ah yes, the Slowsky's. <G> I have internet only with Xfinity...
the TV sets here haven't been turned on in over 8 years.
I use a cellphone account now.
I piggyback off of Xfinity Wi-Fi, but use the Consumer Cellular
smartphone as a hotspot with my laptop for doing ham radio nets
when I'm portable...as I did at the Shreveport Hamfest on Aug. 9.
