I have a user that mostly interacts with the BBS via QWK. In past they
have been able to ADD a new conference, when they see it listed, with
pretty decent luck.
However, when they use the "Drop" command in SLMR, synchronet does not drop the conference -- they keep receiving it.
Is there some special way a drop request message needs to be formatted in order for synchronet to drop the conference from the user's packet? Can they be dropped that way?

Yes. The message has to be posted to "SBBS" with a subject of "DROP". https://wiki.synchro.net/ref:qwk_cmds

Does it matter if there is anything, like a QWK tagline, in the body of the message?
I just test SLMR and it looks like it is getting the TO and
SUBJECT correct, but the body does include a tagline.
Maybe in past I had something set up wrong where the QWK config file had something other than "SBBS" set, causing SLMR to address the message wrong.
